World Welcomes symbolic 'Seven Billionth Baby'

The world's population has reached to 7-billion mark Monday as, United Nations has announced to hit the mark today, but who will be the seven billionth baby is yet to be certified.

But, according to media reports across the world, three nations have claimed to get the 'glory' of getting seven billionth baby.

According to Child Rights Group Plan International, an NGO 'World's symbolic seven billionth baby was born at Mal, 20 km from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh (UP) at 07:20 a.m. on Monday morning. The baby girl is named 'Nargis'.'

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state of India and it is estimated that almost 11 children are born every minute in the fourth largest state of India by area.

Nargis was the baby of Ajay and Vineeta.

On the other hand, according to world media reports, Philippines and Russia have also claimed to get world's symbolic seven billionth baby.

'Danica May Camacho', (wt. 2.5 k.g.) was born today just after the two minutes of midnight on Sunday in a government hospital in Manila, the capital of Philippines. The baby girl and her parents met to UN official.

Eurasian nation Russia has also claimed that World's symbolic seven billionth baby was born in country's Far East in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city. The baby boy named 'Alexander' was born in a maternity ward in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the night of Oct 31, 2011. "A certificate of the seven-billionth baby on Earth was given to the mother of the nascent child," the press service of the Russian presidential envoy's office said.

The seven billionth baby was mark of 'glory' as well as 'concern' for the world and India, as this mark represents the challenge of ?healthy living, nourishment, education, better citizen and equality in the world.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has hailed this occasion and called it a 'special day' in the name of global common good.

Indicating to World's problem of change, economic crisis and inequality, Moon said, "Some say our planet is too crowded. I say we are seven billion strong. But we will only be able to use that strength for the benefit of all if our societies are built on mutual respect and understanding,".

Moon said the world must come together "on this special day... in the name of the global common good."

Currently, India and China account for more than one-third of the world's population in which China has made strides in controlling population whereas India's population growth is going on untamed and is likely to overtake China's population in 2025.

China's population will decline around 2050, whereas India's population will only begin its decline by 2060.
