Ex- Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda beaten up by jail authorities

Ranchi, Oct 31 (ANI): Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda was on Monday thrashed by jail authorities in Ranchi.

 

He was later admitted to a Ranchi hospital.

 

According to television reports, Koda was on a hunger strike since this morning to protest against the bad quality of food being served to inmates. Sometime later, a argument broke out between him and jail officials over the same, following which he was brutally assaulted

 

Koda is under the investigation of various agencies like the Income Tax department, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau with respect to alleged illegal investments.

 

He was arrested on November 30, 2009, in connection with hawala transactions and the illegal investments case registered against him. (ANI)
