Guwahati, Oct 29 (ANI): Budding cricketer Abu Nechim Ahmed is one of Assam's promising young players.
The 23-year-old cricketer is a right arm fast bowler and has impressed the selectors with his performances in various tournaments.
"My goal is to play for India and I am going to play soon for this coming tournament and I will perform well. I also want to show that I can do something," said Ahmed.
Abu began playing cricket at a very young age.
He has also played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
Some experts believe that Abu can become the pace spearhead of the Indian team in the future as has the ability to swing the ball both ways at good pace and has impressive control over the white ball.
"I got lots of tips from IPL teammates like Sachin Tendulkar, Harbajan and now my teammates are also advising me and I am practicing hard. So, I am doing well," he added.
The Northeast is a hub of sporting talent and has produced excellent athletes in past Baichung Bhutia, Mary Kom and Somdev Debbarman are some of them. (ANI)
