Imphal, Oct 28 (ANI): The Chief Minister of Manipur, Ibobi Singh welcomed the surrender of militants and extended the state government's help in their rehabilitation.
"There is a surrender policy scheme so we are implementing that scheme and we can enhance any financial benefit or any other benefit for surrender cadre," said Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur.
More than 200 militants have laid down arms so far in 2011, both the state government and the security forces have assured the surrendered cadres that they would be provided assistance in their rehabilitation process.
Several groups like Peoples United Liberation Front (Umar Faroouq faction), Pakan Reunification Army and Kangleipak Communist Party Military Council (Lallumba faction) have opted for surrender and joined the mainstream. (ANI)
