London, Oct 20 (ANI): Pakistani origin British boxer Amir Khan has planned to pop the question to his girlfriend Faryal Makhdoom next year.
Khan, 24, has met Makhdoom, a student, only four times in their six-month relationship and wants to marry her by 2013.
Makhdoom, 20, who studies political science and journalism in New York had recently posted a picture of the boxer on Facebook and wrote: "My soon 2b fiance!"
"Amir has always kept his love life quiet, but he wants to get engaged next year and they'd probably marry the following year," the Sun quoted a source as saying.
"We knew it was serious when he suddenly changed his Facebook status to 'in a relationship'."
The WBA Super and IBF Light Welterweight Champion was introduced to Makhdoom through his friends, and had arranged a meet for the parents from both sides in Washington DC last month.
"They all got on brilliantly and Amir has told his mum and dad, 'She's the one for me.'
"Amir couldn't be happier. She's very genuine, down-to-earth - a real good girl," the source added. (ANI)
