New Delhi, Oct 18 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has deferred till Wednesday the hearing on the bail plea of Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, who was arrested in connection with his alleged role in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam.
Justice Suresh Kait decided to hear Singh's interim as well as regular bail pleas tomorrow at 2.15 p.m. after the state counsel sought an adjournment due to non-availability of its senior advocate to advance arguments on its behalf.
Amar Singh had moved the High Court after a city court had on September 28 rejected both his interim and regular bail pleas.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where Singh is admitted, had on Oct 12 submitted a medical report in court saying that he needs constant medical monitoring.
The cash-for-votes scam had rocked proceedings in the Lok Sabha in 2008, when the ruling UPA Government, led by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, allegedly bribed lawmakers of other parties to help wining the confidence vote. (ANI)
