Lucknow, Oct 18 (ANI): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has asked veteran social activist Anna Hazare to clear his stand on the remarks made by his aide Prashant Bhushan on the Kashmir issue.
Addressing mediapersons here, Ramdev said: ""I request Anna Hazare to clearly state before the country his stand on the seditious, almost traitorous remarks by a member of his team. Such remarks weaken the credibility of people's movements, which can be very dangerous."
Ramdev said that while the fundamental right to free speech entitled people to express their views, public figures like Bhushan carried a huge responsibility on their shoulders, and their integrity was always under the public eye.
"Members of people's movements, apart from talking about their constitutional rights, must be patriotic, their moral stand and loyalty towards the country must also be clear. This is not a question of legal rights, this is about one's personal integrity," he added.
Commenting on the defeat of Congress party in Hisar by-polls, Ramdev said: "Unless the government showed a strong will to fight graft, bigger defeats would follow.
"If the Central government does not make clear its stand on corruption, black money and changes in the system, then it will have to face bigger losses than the one it has faced now. This is not just about Hisar, there will be defeat in the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab assembly elections, after which the government will lose all over India as well." (ANI)
