Imphal, Oct 15 (ANI): The house of Mohammad Kadir, a candidate contesting upcoming State elections, was attacked by a grenade in Manipur.
The attack occurred in the Yairipok Kekru Makha area on October 6, where 200 people had gathered for a meeting. Although, the grenade did not explode it has left Kadir and his family terrorized.
"The attack was meant to terrorize us. It was our good luck that the bomb did not explode and there were no casualties," said Kadir
A case has been registered against the attack.
The grenade attack has also provoked the civil society and women's group to hold protest rallies at various places in the state.
"Unidentified militants lobbed the grenade at Kadir's house. We do not want such incidents to happen again. They should immediately stop all this," said Amina Begum, a protestor.
Bomb attacks, kidnapping and extortion of money by militant groups have been continuing in Manipur. (ANI)
