New Delhi, Oct 15, (ANI): Married women were seen getting henna designs being applied on their palms on the occasion of Karva Chauth which is observed for the well being and long life of the husbands.
Local markets here wore a festive look as the women thronged the market to purchase all the products, which they require to celebrate Karva Chauth.
Women purchased colourful glass bangles, vermilion, henna, anklets and other ornaments which symbolized that they are married.
"It is auspicious to apply henna, as it symbolizes that the girl is married. This day reminds the woman the first time she had applied henna on the day of her wedding," said Jyoti Batra.
"This also shows how much a woman loves her husband," she added.
During Karva Chauth women observe fast and break it only after seeing the moon.
'Karva Chauth', falls ten days before Diwali and is considered very important festival for married Hindu women.(ANI)
