Lahore, Oct 13(ANI): Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq and left arm spinner Abdur Rehman have been named in a cricket magazine's Test Team of the Year, according to a news report.
Misbah has been named as the Overseas Test Player of the Year by 'The Cricketer' in its annual awards, Pakistan Today reports.
Misbah has scored 632 runs in six Test matches at an average of 90.28 over the past 12 months, combining outstanding personal form with authority and leadership as the new captain of a young Pakistan side.
In a surprise selection, he was joined in the magazine's Test Team of the Year by Pakistan spinner Rehman, who took 29 wickets at 31.82 over the same 12-month evaluation period.
The Cricketer awards are based on average marks out of ten awarded by the magazine's writers who cover all Tests in the period.
Misbah averaged 7.33 out of a possible 10, while Abdur impressed with a score of 6.83, placing him ahead of international spin bowling rivals Harbhajan Singh (6.58) and Graeme Swann (6.17). (ANI)
