London, Oct 13 (ANI): British singer Adele has been nominated for four categories at the American Music Awards, including artist of the year.
The artist who had been ordered by doctors to rest her voice, was also short listed for the best album of the year, best rock and pop female artist and best contemporary artist award.
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lil Wayne were also chosen for three awards, which are to be announced on the 20th of October in Los Angeles.
The presenters of the show Pitbull and Nicki Minaj got two nominations each, along with Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Jason Aldean, LMFAO and Kanye West.
Other short listed artists include Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Pitbull who will compete for favourite pop and rock male artist, while Maroon 5, OneRepublic and dance music group LMFAO are up for best band, the BBC reported
In the rap and hip-hop category Wayne, Minaj and Kanye West earned nods for favourite artist.
Minaj was also nominated for the best album group along with stars like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Adele. (ANI)
