London, Oct 11 (ANI): A new "super healthy" milk, which promises to slash the amount of saturated fat in our diet, is hoped to drastically reduce the toll of heart disease when it goes on sale this week in Britain.
The revolutionary pinta comes from cows fed only a natural diet, reducing the amount of harmful fat in their milk.
It will go on sale in Marks and Spencer stores across the UK and, the company claims, that the milk - standard full-fat, semi-skimmed and skimmed, but not including its organic range - will be naturally lower in fat than the standard pinta.
"We're delighted with the results of the trial. Our new milk is a win-win recipe," the Daily Express quoted Sue Bell, M and S technical executive as saying.
"It has less saturated fat but actually tastes better, there is less impact on the environment due to the reduction in palm oil, our farmers cows are healthier and our farmers will benefit from a guaranteed price for their milk," she added.n fact the six per cent saturated fat reduction could be an underestimate, says M and S. It will take a year to get the full data on the new milk.
The amount of fat in milk varies throughout the year because of changes in the cow's diet in summer and winter. (ANI)
