Lahore, Oct 11(ANI): The Decision Review System (DRS) technology will be used during the upcoming one-day international (ODI) series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has said.
Bank Alfalah has partnered with the PCB as the 'presenting sponsor' for the series to be played in the UAE.
"It is for the first time in the cricket history that a company is sponsoring the PCB for DRS Technology," The Nation quoted the PCB official, as saying.
He said that the PCB was also trying to explore a sponsor for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
Pakistan is scheduled to play three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 match at various venues of the UAE, commencing from October 18, he concluded.
The series consists of three Tests, five ODls and one T20 match; it was announced at a press conference held at PCB media centre, Gaddafi Stadium. The three-Test series will start from October 18.
Speaking at a press conference at the PCB media centre, Gaddafi Stadium, Ijaz Farooq, Group Head Islamic Banking, Bank Alfalah, said: "It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce the association of Bank Alafalah as the presenting partners of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka series.
"We have been associated with cricket in the past as well and wish both the teams all the best and look forward to a very competitive series between two top-class sides," he added.
"We thank the PCB for their untiring efforts to promote Pakistan cricket and giving Bank Alfalah the opportunity to be associated with it," Hamid M Mirza, Head of Marketing, said.
Tariq Hakim, General Manager Marketing, PCB, said the board thanks Bank Alfalah for being part of Pakistan cricket since 2005, adding: "We look forward to continue this relationship in the future as well." (ANI)
