Experts claim 'indisputable evidence' of existence of 'elusive' Yeti

London, Tue, 11 Oct 2011 ANI

London, Oct 11 (ANI): Experts at an international conference in Russia have claimed that yetis or the Abominable Snowmen are still in existence and residing in Siberia.

Their claim is backed by 'indisputable evidence' they say they have, based on a single unclear footprint and a small sample of grey 'hair', found in a cave.

The administration of the Kemerovo region, where the cave is situated, has announced that 'indisputable evidence' had been found.

"During the expedition to the Azasskaya cave, conference participants gathered indisputable proof that the Shoria mountains are inhabited by the Snow Man," the Daily Mail quoted the Kemerovo region administration as saying.

"They found his footprints, his supposed bed, and various markers with which the Yeti uses to denote his territory."

The researchers, who went for an expedition to track down the Abominable Snowman, insisted that they are closer than ever to catching one the creatures, and it would not be long before people everywhere would appreciate the Yeti's existence.

"We are close to finally finding the Abominable Snowman," the Daily Mail quoted Dr Igor Burtsev, leader of the international event as saying.

He claims around 30 Yetis live in the Kemerovo region, adding that they are Neandethal men who have survived to this day.

But since the markers appeared to be mainly broken trees, Russian media reports have treated Yeti claims with considerable skepticism.

Doubts have already been cast on the 'find' - as the team has no convincing photographic or DNA evidence. he critics have purported that the expedition was more about making the area a tourist destination than true science. (ANI)
