London, Oct 8 (ANI): Formula one chief Bernie Ecclestone has spent a whopping 1.8million to help the victims of the devastating tsunami that hit Japan.
The big-hearted billionaire has bought 3,000 tickets for those who suffered in the earthquake last March for the Grand Prix in Suzuka, the Sun reported.
And proceeds from the sale of 35 pounds hand puppets of the F1 supremo will also go to the relief fund.
Meanwhile Brit drivers Jenson Button, whose girlfriend Jessica Michibata is Japanese, and Lewis Hamilton are auctioning their helmets and race gear to raise cash.
In addition paintings of current world champ Sebastian Vettel and ex-winners Button, Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher and their cars are also to be auctioned off. (ANI)
