Washington, Oct 3 (ANI): Warner Bros' family flick 'Dolphin Tale' swam to the top of the movie box office over the weekend, dethroning last weekend's champ 'The Lion King'.
'Dolphin Tale' grossed 14.2 million dollars in its second weekend followed by Brad Pitt-starrer 'Moneyball' with 12.5 million dollars at No.2 and 'The Lion King' with 11.1 million dollars at No.3, according to the Studio estimates Sunday.
Apart from these three films, which were tightly vying for the top spot, there were a handful of other new films that tried to make waves at the box office.
Starring Joseph Gorden-Levitt and Seth Rogen, Summit Entertainment's cancer comic drama '50/50' finished at no 4 with 8.85 million dollars, closely trailed by Sony's Christian-themed police drama 'Courageous', which pulled in 8.8 million dollars. (ANI)
