Force India F1 team co-owner brain behind 13,750mph space jet!

London, Mon, 03 Oct 2011 ANI

London, Oct 3 (ANI): A spaceship that can cover 10,500 miles in just one hour and 45 minutes is the brainchild of a Dutchman who co-owns the Force India F1 team.

Michiel Mol, a 42-year-old computer tycoon, is working with Dutch airline KLM and has already sold 35 tickets for the early flights from the Caribbean island of Curacao.

The first scheduled flights could take place within 20 years. And an early 2,200mph version of the Lynx craft will begin taking tourists to the edge of space for 60,000 pounds by early 2014.

"Where you are going doesn't make much difference," the Sun quoted Mol as saying.

"You need 10 minutes to get into space and maybe half an hour to decelerate and land again - and the rest of the time you are flying at up to 13,750mph.

"Flying from London to Barcelona would still take an hour or so while London to Tokyo would be about an hour and 30 minutes," he added. (ANI)
