Washington, Oct 2 (ANI): A new radar-chip technology based on silicon promises to make driving safer and less taxing, thus making cars smarter to lead to intelligent roads.
The new technology, which has several advantages over the standard chips using gallium arsenide, benefits from a vast scale of production, thereby keeping manufacturing costs down.
Secondly, the new chips are more capable, which means one or two of them can replace a fistful of the old gallium-arsenide kind.
Finally, their superior performance provides better resolution of objects on the road, making driving a lot safer and less accident-prone.
The long-range radar is also expected to help cars form electronic networks with one another and with the physical environment, leading to a more integrated transportation system. (ANI)
