Tevez refuses to apologise to Man City manager Mancini

London, Sat, 01 Oct 2011 ANI

London, Oct 1 (ANI): Carlos Tevez has said yet again that he will not apologise to Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, and insisted that his team-mates will support his version of events.

Manager Mancini had said that Tevez refused to come on against Bayern Munich and will not feature for Manchester City again.

Tevez, however, believes the players who were alongside him on the bench on Tuesday will back his story, despite claiming later that evening: "I didn't feel right to play, so I didn't," the BBC reports.

Earlier in the day, Mancini had warned his superstar rebels, saying that he is the boss after Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko questioned his authority.

"It's finished. I'm the manager, our focus is on the Premier League and the Champions League. The other things are not my problem. The only complication I had two days ago was that we lost against Bayern Munich. Only this. The other thing, no, absolutely," he had added.

Mancini went through terrible times this week after Tevez refused to play in Munich on Tuesday night.

The Italian faced mutiny in Munich when Tevez refused to go on as a second-half sub- stitute, while Edin Dzeko threw a strop after being hauled off in the 2-0 defeat to the German champions.

Tevez has been suspended pending a club investigation while Dzeko has since apologised and is expected to line-up at Blackburn today.

Mancini's stand against Tevez that he would not be allowed to play for the club, was praised by his biggest rival Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson.

"I think Roberto Mancini has come out showing his strength of character, his strength of management. That's important in today's management. We have all experienced our own difficulties in management. You cope with it as best you can," Fergie said. (ANI)
