Washington, Sept 25 (ANI): George Clooney has revealed that he shelved political movie 'Ides Of March' after Barack Obama's election because he was convinced that the public would not be interested in watching a movie about a political scandal.
According to reports, Clooney began to work on the film in 2007, one year before Obama was elected as the US President.
The actor has revealed that the real life political situation convinced him to put the movie on hold, as a good portion of the country was elated with what happened in the election.
The Hollywood actor stars as a Democratic presidential candidate in the film, alongside Ryan Gosling as a campaign worker who is forced to learn dirty tricks in the run-up to the election.
"We were in pre-production on this film in 2007, before the Obama election. And then we realised that a good portion of the country was elated with what happened in that election, so we had to shelve the movie until people were cynical again," The Daily Star quoted him as telling The Parade magazine.
