New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recorded the statement of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh in connection with the agency's probe in the 2G scam.
According to CBI sources, the agency completed recording of Singh's statement this week.
Jaswant Singh, the Finance Minister in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) regime, was heading the Group of Ministers (GoM) on the issue of limited mobility and unified licencing during the relevant period.
BJP's Arun Shourie and late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan were telecom ministers between 2001 and 2003 and Dayanidhi Maran during UPA government.
The CBI has already recorded the statement of Shourie.
The telecom scam, one of India's biggest graft cases ever, may have cost 39.57 billion dollars in revenue to the public exchequer as per the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
In its report, the CAG had disclosed that several guidelines and rules were flouted during the allocation of spectrum licences, which led to many ineligible firms winning licences. (ANI)
