London, Sept 23 (ANI): A revolutionary online gaming system, which claims to give users access to on-demand games via the Internet with no need for a console, has been launched in the UK.
In the 'cloud'-based OnLive service, gamers can play around 150 games on various devices including PCs, Mac tablets and net-connected televisions.
The service was launched at the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court, West London, where around 40,000 enthusiasts are expected to turn up over the next few days to try out the latest games.
"This is gaming over the internet," Sky News quoted Bruce Grove, OnLive's senior director of business development, as saying.
"We've had on-demand radio, on-demand videos, now we have on-demand video games.
"We have all the latest titles streamed direct to your TV, PC, Mac tablet, any device. All you need is a broadband connection," he added.
It is predicted that this revolution will help the gaming industry in the UK, which is worth 2.4billion pounds now, exceed the 3billion mark by 2015. (ANI)
