Centre unwilling to retrieve black money: Ramdev

Chhatarpur , Thu, 22 Sep 2011 ANI

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 22 (ANI): Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday criticized the Central Government for not showing the political will to retrieve the black money stashed away abroad.

Addressing a gathering in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur city, Ramdev said the government remains unconcerned about reclaiming India's rightful wealth. In Indian Government, there is no political will power and honesty, and that is why our money is not being brought back into our country. What a shame it is," said Ramdev.

Ramdev, who began his campaign against corruption on Tuesday, claimed that the value of Indian currency would appreciate if black money were brought back into the country.

"The day black money is brought back to our country, that day, the value of our currency will be more than dollars and pounds," he said.

Ramdev also claimed that once the money is retrieved, more than half of the country's problems would be eliminated.

"I am saying that the solution to the problems of our country lies in the four lakh crore rupees. They should get back the black money because there would not be any poverty, unemployment, hunger or starvation, and illiteracy in the country," he said.

Ramdev is travelling through seven districts of the country, which include Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Ramabai Nagar, Unnao, Hardoi and Farrukhabad as part of his anti-graft march.

The march would conclude on October 3.

Ramdev had earlier staged a fast against corruption in June that was forcibly ended by the Delhi Police after the yoga guru and thousands of his followers were driven out of the Ramlila Ground in New Delhi. (ANI)
