New York, Sept 18 (ANI): A new VH1 documentary has suggested that the simultaneous rise of cocaine and hip-hop in the urban street culture of the 1980s was directly linked.

Producers of the show talked to major rap stars like Snoop Dogg, B-Real of Cypress Hill and RZA and Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan, and found that all of them admitting taking illegal substances, with the majority naming marijuana.
The use of the term 'crack' has been recurrent in the rap game, from artist names like Kurtis Blow and T La Rock to lyrics about crack use and dealing.
