Mumbai, Sep 18(ANI): Budding designers got an opportunity to showcase their collections at the fashion week in Mumbai.

Sixteen fashion designers from India and abroad exhibited their collections at the event.

Bollywood actor Ritesh Deshmukh addressed the mediapersons on Saturday and praised the fashion week for providing a platform to the budding fashion designers.

He said that he was very happy and honoured to be able to walk the ramp for the much acclaimed designer, Manoviraj Khosla.

"Signature has given a great platform to showcase eight international fashion designers and eight renowned Indian fashion designers in eight different cities. It is absolutely a privilege for me to be walking for Manoviraj. I have admired his work, seen his work and today I finally get to wear it, flaunt it and walk on the ramp," Deshmukh said.

Other prominent figure, who was present at the news conference and who lauded the fashion week was Miss USA, Rima Fakih. She said that she watched Bollywood movies and was a fan of Aishwarya Rai.

She added that the event provided an opportunity to both the bold and the beautiful to come onto the stage together.

"I have watched a good amount of Bollywood movies and am a huge fan of Aishwarya Rai. I did not know he was going to be here today but I fixed my hair. So its an honour to actually be here with someone like himself who is well known and its nice to see that we are bringing beauty from the beauty pageant side and you are bringing the celebrity side and I think that combines beauty and the bold," Fakih said.

The Signature Fashion week would be held in eight different fashion capitals of the world and it would have eight different show stoppers. (ANI)
