London, Sept 15 (ANI): Marks and Spencer has revealed that the sales of figure-hugging 'panties for men' have soared by more than a third during 2010.
These briefest of briefs are so high on demands that the Oxford English Dictionary is reportedly considering adding the word 'manties' to its vocabulary.
The image of the briefs has been boosted by celebrities such as David Beckham, who posed in Armani's skimpy pants and launched an own-label version.
The range has also been a fixture on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
"We have seen a rise in sales of small briefs for men," the Daily Mail quoted Dave Binns, head of buying for men's underwear at M and S, as saying.
'Men's catwalk shows this week have been showing small briefs for men too and we expect sales to continue to grow," he added. (ANI)
