London, Sept 14 (ANI): Cheryl Cole is said to have flown to Afghanistan to boost the morale of those serving on the front line and to film a tribute to the armed forces as part of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards.
The 28-year-old singer, who was said to be "delighted" about the trip, made it to Camp Bastion in Helmand province to mark 10 years of British operations in Afganistan.
"Cheryl's amazed by the courage of all those serving our country," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
"When she was invited to go out to see them in Afghanistan, she immediately said 'Yes'," the source stated.
The axed 'The X Factor' judge boarded a troop carrier plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire for a 12-hour flight and is due to meet British soldiers, sailors and airmen serving in the country, including those who have been wounded in action. (ANI)
