London, Sept 13 (ANI): A six-year-old British girl got more than she bargained for when she unearthed a rare fossil thought to be more than 160million years old.

Emily Baldry, from Chippenham, south-west England, dug up the 130lb, 40cm ammonite with a plastic beach spade after accompanying her father Jon on an archeological trip to Cotswold Water Park, Gloucestershire, last year.

The fossil is officially known as a Rieneckia odysseus, but Baldry has affectionately nicknamed it 'Spike', reports the Mirror.

Now it has been carefully restored by experts and put on display at the Gateway Information Centre, near Cirencester. (ANI)
