Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Sep.13 (ANI): Railway authorities have reportedly taken steps to beef up security on the 'Palace on Wheels' luxury train in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, following a terror attack alert issued by intelligence agencies
In the wake of the Delhi High Court blast and earlier warnings issued by central intelligence agencies, security arrangements of the train have been upgraded.
In fact, more railway police officials have been hired to inspect the railway stations thoroughly, as an added measure to curb militant attacks.
Sniffer dogs were provided to these officials to further aid them during security checks.
Men in plain clothes were also posted at railway stations to keep a check on assailants.
Railway security forces have formulated a comprehensive security plan for the luxurious train to ply smoothly.
"We have added some security guards also, we are providing special baggage checking devices. So, the people will be more comfortable and being a government organisation, people have faith on Palace on Wheels, because this is the brand image of Rajasthan tourism as well as RTDC (Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation) and it is famous all over the world as far as luxury trains are concerned," said Pradeep Bohra, Manager, Palace On Wheels.
The luxury train makes a seven-day trip from New Delhi and halts at Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra before going back to Delhi. (ANI)
