London, Sept 11 (ANI): Michael Fassbender has been adjudged the best actor at the Venice Film Festival for his performance in the British film 'Shame'.
The 34-year-old German-born actor won the Golden Lion for Best Actor for portraying a successful New Yorker struggling with sex addiction in the Steve McQueen-directed movie, reports the Telegraph.
The Golden Lion award for Best Film went to 'Faust', a Russian film adaptation of Goethe's tragedy, directed by Aleksander Sokurov.
Deanie Yip won the award for Best Actress for her role in the Chinese Film 'Tao Jie' ('A Simple Life').
The award for Best Cinematography went to Robbie Ryan for Andrea Arnold's presentation of Emily Bronte's classic 'Wuthering Heights'. (ANI)
