Koraput, Sep 11(ANI): Maoist ultras have killed two villagers by slitting their throats in Narayanpatna area of Orissa's Koraput district, as they suspected the duo to be police informers.
Of the six villagers abducted by the Maoist rebels on Thursday (September 8), four were let off, while 30-year-old Sankar Rao Mandangi and 20-year-old Santosh Kumar Patnala were killed.
Villagers found the dead bodies lying amid a pool of blood on Saturday morning on the outskirts of the Borgi village.
"They came in group and took my son along with them three days back. We waited, but they did not come back. Today morning the villagers told me that my son is dead. They killed my son," said Shanti, mother of a slain villager.
Following the gruesome killing, the villagers in the area are scared and panic has spread to the nearby villages.
"We are scared. The Maoists are back again and killing villagers. They have taken six villagers, they hold the 'Praja Adalat' and they spared four and killed these two. We are scared of the Maoists," said Umakant Pangi, a villager.
The rebels left a leaflet behind at the site, which was signed by Daya, the Srikakulam divisional commander of the Maoists. (ANI)
