Kanpur, Sep 11(ANI): Security measures have been beefed up in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, following last week's high intensity bomb blast in New Delhi, which killed 13 people and injuring around 88.
Scores of security personnel were deployed at railway stations, bus stands and other sensitive areas with high density of people.
Rajesh Kumar Rai, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), said that they are keeping a strict vigil across the city.
"We have put the city on high alert after we got information about that incident. We have been continuously keeping a tight vigil on bus stands, railway stations, courts and other sensitive areas," he said.
"We have deployed our bomb disposal squads and anti-sabotage teams. We conduct checking from time to time. Though it is not possible for 24 hours but we keep checking on regular basis," he added. (ANI)
