Galle, Sep 5(ANI): Australian batting coach Justin Langer believes that it is only a matter of time before captain Michael Clarke's 18-month wait for a Test century comes to an end.
Clarke has not reached three figures since his career-best 168 against New Zealand in Wellington in March last year.
However, Langer said he was impressed by Clarke's time in the middle during the second innings in the Galle Test against Sri Lanka when he scored 60.
"It's as good as I've seen him bat at the moment. He's done some hard work in the off-season, and these conditions are brilliant for him. He, along with Brian Lara and Darren Lehmann, are the best players of spin I've ever seen," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Langer, as saying.
"I think it's just a matter of time before he really cashes in. It wouldn't surprise me if he's making some big runs, big hundreds soon," he added.
The second Test of the three-match series will begin in Kandy on Thursday. (ANI)
