Dubai, Sept 4 (ANI): The producers of the much-acclaimed Indian film 'The Living Ghost' are planning to shoot their next film on picturesque locations in the sultanate of Oman.
The film titled 'Thukool,' which means 'freeze' in Hindi and Oriya, will start production from next month and is the second celluloid work of the producer-director team of Akshay Kumar Parija and Prashanta Nanda.
Their first film, 'The Living Ghost', won a record-breaking seven Indian state awards and even enjoyed positive reviews when it premiered internationally last year.
Over a two-week period starting from early October, the pair plans to shoot scenes for film with picturesque backdrops of Oman.
Popular tourist locations in Sur, Rimal al Sharqiya (Wahiba Sands), Wadi Shaab, Wadi Tiwi, and the capital's marina, have been identified as settings for the upcoming shoot.
'Thukool' is a soft love story with significant relevance of Oman, said Ashok Suvarna, Executive Director, NPA Events, which will oversee the Oman shoot.
"It will depict the healing power of dance. If all goes well, the film is programmed for an early January 2012 release," Gulf News quoted Suvarna as saying.
Producer Akshay Parija commented, "I have promised to capture the great culture, beauty and landscapes of Oman and take it to all parts of the world through celluloid in our second film."
"I am happy that we will be commencing work on the project soon. We will also endeavour to accommodate local talents both in acting and technical areas," he added. (ANI)
