Melbourne, Aug 31 (ANI): Three-time US Open champion Serena Williams' dad has revealed that he no longer cares whether she will win her fourth title this year as long as she's healthy.
Richard Williams also said he is just happy that his youngest daughter is alive after she suffered a blood clot in her lungs in March 2010.
"I'm looking forward to just having my daughter because I almost lost her. I don't care if she wins or loses. It doesn't make a difference as long as I can talk to her and laugh with her," the Daily Telegraph quoted him as telling The New York Post.
"I'm just happy she's alive. If she didn't have medical problems, I'd say she would win it. That's not part of me anymore. I'm just glad to have her," he added.
This is Serena's first appearance at the Open since her infamous explosion at a female linesperson in the 2009 finals caused her a disqualification. (ANI)
