New Delhi: 17th Delhi Book Fair started at Pragati Maidan on Saturday with a theme ‘travel and tourism’ but noted social activist, Anna Hazare seems to get maximum attention of the readers. Cashing his popularity some stalls are selling Hazare posters and pictures, while others a slim biography of Anna Hazare. As per some publishers the biography of Anna Hazare is a best seller.
The slim biography of Hazare in English is titled Anna Hazare: The New Revolutionary; while its Hindi version is named Krantidoot: Anna Hazare. These books, contains a short biography of Anna Hazare and his philosophy in addition to chapters on major scams in India.
This year 250 publishers from India and abroad, including countries like UK, China, USA and Pakistan are participating in Delhi book fair. The fair that is running simultaneously with the Stationery Fair will be hosting a number of seminars, book launches and workshops. This year the Hindi publishers are making effort to popularize Hindi books. The book fair is open to visitors from 11am to 8pm and conclude on September 4.
