London, Aug 28(ANI): Former England fast bowler Matthew Hoggard reckons that James Anderson could become one of the country's leading Test match wicket-takers.
Anderson, who claimed 21 wickets in the recent Test series with India, currently sits seventh in the list of England's leading wicket-takers, having taken 240 in 63 matches, 143 behind Sir Ian Botham.
The 29-year-old also looks set to climb the ladder with just eight wickets separating him from Hoggard.
"Jimmy's been fantastic. He still has another 150 wickets or so to take to get to the very top and that's a lot of wickets. I think he's led the England attack really well. He's a very skilful bowler," the Telegraph quoted Hoggard, as saying.
"I think he'll rise through the ranks and will probably be well above me by the time he retires. But to get 300 wickets would be a very tough task," he added. (ANI)
