London, Aug 25(ANI): Manchester City's latest signing Samir Nasri has revealed that Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira had persuaded him to join Manchester City.
Vieira convinced Nasri that it was City who were the club on the up with Arsenal now in reverse.
"Patrick Vieira made a big difference. He's a legend and in France everyone loves and respects him," Nasri said.
The 24-year-old further said that it was a big relief to get over with the long negotiations between the clubs.
"I was a little bit frustrated because I told the manager I wanted to leave and do the pre-season with Manchester City so I could get to know my teammates," Nasri said.
"But now I'm finally a City player and that's what I wanted from the start so I'm very happy," he added. (ANI)
