London, Aug 25(ANI): Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher says that he has "fresh motivation and energy" ahead of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix, a race which marks the 20th anniversary of the German driver's debut.
"The race in Spa will certainly have a special touch to it this time, as this is where I drove my first ever Formula One race 20 years ago. It's hard to believe that this was such a long time ago," Sky Sports quoted Schumacher, as saying.
"A lot has changed in those 20 years, but one thing has not: the track is still sensational. I just love the great nature of the location and the resulting layout with all the ups and downs," he added.
He further said that the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps remains in his 'living room', as it has been the stage for several remarkable achievements of his career.
"This is why this time I would like to specifically send a big thank you to all my fans for their loyalty and support, which I was happy to receive during those 20 years and also since my comeback," Schumacher said.
Schumacher has the happiest of memories of Spa-Francorchamps, as he won his first-ever Grand Prix there in 1992.
He then went on to smash all F1's significant records, winning seven world titles, 91 Grands Prix, with 68 pole positions, 76 fastest laps and a total of 1,473 points. (ANI)
