London, August 25 (ANI): Australian model Miranda Kerr's favourite beauty product - coconut oil - is selling like hot cakes after she revealed that she is an avid user of it.
In an interview last month the Victoria's Secret model attributed her blemish-free skin and glossy hair to the miracle oil.
"'I will not go a day without coconut oil. I personally take four tablespoons per day, either on my salads, in my cooking or in my cups of green tea," she had said.
Health food chain Holland and Barrett, which has 625 stores nationwide, reported that the sales had shot up by 50 percent in the past year and that much of the demand was very recent, reports the Daily Mail.
The oil, which contains fatty acid, is extracted from the flesh of mature coconuts. It can be drunk raw, used in cooking and baking or applied directly to the skin or hair as a moisturiser. (ANI)
