London, Aug 24(ANI): England off-spinner Graeme Swann has hailed India's stand-out batsman during the just concluded four-match Test series - Rahul Dravid.
Dravid scored 461 runs at an average of 76.83 during the series, carrying his bat for 146 not out in the final Test at the Oval.
"Rahul Dravid scored India's only three centuries of the series and he was fantastic. He played me better than anybody has over the last couple of years by using his feet and the crease so well," Swann wrote in an article for the Sun.
"We were fortunate that, after carrying his bat in the first innings at the Oval, he had to come out again 10 minutes later. He must have been knackered and I think it contributed to him getting out," he added.
Swann also praised Dravid's superb commitment, skill and determination at a time when injuries and illness were coming thick and fast from the Indian camp.
"For a man of 38 who has played 150-odd Tests, Dravid was happy to move up from No.3 to open the batting because of injuries. He also kept wicket at Lord's when M.S. Dhoni brought himself on to bowl," he said. (ANI)
