'Chaperone' Ryan Gosling offered money to end New York street fight

Washington, Wed, 24 Aug 2011 ANI

Washington, August 24 (ANI): Actor Ryan Gosling, who recently broke up a street fight in New York, has been revealed by the photographer, who captured the incident on camera, to have offered cash to end the squabble.

The 'Notebook' star was strolling through the streets of the East Village when he came across two men fighting in the middle of the road over the ownership of a painting.

"Ryan Gosling took the two men to the corner of the street, like a chaperone and he had them explain the story, but things began to escalate again quickly," Contactmusic quoted photographer Valeria Alvea as saying.

"Ryan put a stop to it, then he asked, 'How much is the painting?'

"The painter told him it was 10 dollars. Ryan gave him 20 dollars and said, 'Does this cover what the man owes you?' The painter thanked him and Ryan continued on his way," he added. (ANI)
