London, Aug 24(ANI): Ian Bell has said that England batsmen's goal when they face Pakistan and Sri Lanka on their travels this winter will be to make 'daddy hundreds'.
"I think when we get out to the subcontinent it's about getting big scores. I'm not sure when anyone last got a double-hundred out there. That'll be the goal," Sky Sports quoted Bell, as saying.
"Goochie will be pushing us hard - because with our bowling attack, we know if we get big scores on the board in the first innings we can win Test matches. We've done it well here; we've now got to take it abroad, where we've not done it so well in the past," he added.
Bell, Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen have all scored double-centuries in 2011 and top the 2011 Test run-scoring charts, which has helped England climb to the summit of Test cricket by toppling former ICC Test Championship table-toppers India. (ANI)
