London, August 24 (ANI): Victoria Beckham, who has made no secret of her love for high heels, has been instructed to wear flat shoes at the upcoming New York Fashion Week.
After suffering a slipped disc following the birth of daughter Harper Seven in July, the 37-year-old designer is under doctor's orders to avoid stilettos.
And so, in what must be a fashion first, Mrs Beckham will launch a post-baby fashion comeback from her usual height.
"Victoria's not had an easy past few weeks. But she's a trooper and after getting the all-clear to attend Fashion Week provided her back doesn't significantly deteriorate, she has been advised to avoid heels," the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling the Mirror.
"Although her heel-wearing wasn't the cause of her back problems, stilettos don't help her condition.
"Victoria has been frantically surfing the web for an acceptable pair of flats, ones which don't make her look like a golf club."
There is rarely a flat shoe on show at any Fashion Week, but according to the newspaper, Christian Louboutin and Roger Vivier are both tipped to save the day and design Mrs Beckham a suitably glamorous flat alternative.
Mrs Beckham had earlier been forced to wear flats after suffering from bunion problems. Still, it is not the fashionista's usual sleek style.
"She's not relishing the prospect of not wearing heels, but at the moment her main priority is looking after Harper and getting herself fixed," the source added. (ANI)
