Bangalore, Aug 21 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists took out a protest march here today to support veteran social activist Anna Hazare's crusade against corruption.
Locals also joined the protest march along with BJP workers by holding banners and national flag.
Manoj Kumar, a BJP worker said the entire country had stood up with Hazare to support his movement and his party was also committed to fight against corruption.
"Shri Anna Hazare has adopted a nationwide strategy to agitate and protest against the corruption which is going on in the country and as you know there is a tremendous response that he has received to support Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement and to support the BJP's agenda of anti-corruption we have now done a symbolic protest march and BJP is committed to eradicate corruption from our country," said Kumar.
Meanwhile, an artist Srinivas carved out idols of Hazare with Hindu god 'Ganesha' to express his solidarity with the ant-graft movement.
"There is a lot of corruption in the society so I have made an idol of Anna Hazare. The entire nation is supporting Anna Hazare. I have kept the idol of Anna Hazare with lord Ganesha so that he seeks his blessing from him in his fight against corruption," he said.
The 74-year-old social activist is on a fast-unto-death protest along with thousands of his supporters at New Delhi's Ramlila Maidan for a strong Lokpal Bill. (ANI)
