I've put 'nightmare' of last season behind me, says Torres

London, Mon, 15 Aug 2011 ANI

London, Aug 15(ANI): Chelsea striker Fernando Torres insists that he is feeling sharp again after putting last season's nightmare behind him.

Torres had scored just once in 16 appearances last season following his 50 million pound switch from Liverpool in January.

"I am only 27 and I haven't forgotten how to play and score, last season was a season to forget for me, but it is in the past," the Sun quoted Torres, as saying.

He further said that he was happy with the team's performance in the Premier League opener against Stock City, but disappointed with the 0-0 draw.

"We had some chances to score and two very clear penalty situations, but we had enough chances so it is no excuse," Torres said.

"It is not a good result, but it is a difficult stadium to play in and a difficult team to play against," he added. (ANI)
