Lucknow, Aug 9 (ANI): Lucknow Police on Tuesday baton charged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists, who were protesting against corruption and the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
The baton charge took place after the police personnel stopped the BJP supporters from marching towards Raj Bhavan, the Governor's house, where they intended to present a memorandum.
According to reports, the police personnel also arrested some BJP activists during the course of the protest.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Government-led by Chief Minister Mayawati is in the ye of storm over a slew of scams, rape of lowers caste girls and murder of doctors from the state's Health Department including one in a jail. (ANI)
