Islamabad, Aug 7 (ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt has ruled out the possibility of the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s Pakistan Task Team (PTT) visiting Pakistan.
"Chances of the task force team visiting Pakistan are nearly over, and I also don't think there is a need for them to visit Pakistan now," The Nation quoted Butt, as saying.
Butt also said that the PCB has gone through the PTT report, but insisted the decision to implement the recommendations laid out in the report were purely the discretion of the board.
He said that the prospect of the PTT visiting Pakistan was discussed at the last ICC meeting in Hong Kong, but it does not appear to be a possibility now.
"We also don't think now there is a necessity for such a visit. As it is, we are studying the task team report and if there are some good recommendations who wouldn't want to implement them," he added.
The PTT was formed to revive international tours of Pakistan, suspended after a terror attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, and to strengthen the game in the country which has been battered by allegations of spot-fixing. (ANI)
