Mumbai, Aug 6 (ANI): Mumbai Police on Saturday arrested the captain and chief engineer of the cargo vessel MV Rak, which sank off the Mumbai coast on Thursday.
The two were arrested on charges of negligence and endangering safety.
Yellow Gate Police had on Friday registered a case of negligence and endangering life against the owner, captain and crewmembers of the cargo vessel.
The cargo ship, which was on its way from Lubuk-Tutung in Indonesia to Dahej in Gujarat, sank around 25 nautical miles west of Mumbai harbour after it reported water ingress on Thursday morning.
It was carrying a 30-member crew of Indonesian, Jordanian and Romanian nationalities, who were rescued by the Indian Navy and Coast Guard officials. (ANI)
