London, Aug.6 (ANI): Former England captain and legendary all-rounder Ian Botham does not see any reason why the home team cannot achieve a four-nil score line against India in the ongoing Test series.
With India already two-nil down after heavy defeats at Lord's and Trent Bridge, Botham said in an article for The Mirror: "In fact, I can see England pushing on from Nottingham and getting even better in this series, and not only do I expect to see them win the next Test at Edgbaston on a ground they love playing at and do very well at, but I can't see any reason why 4-0 isn't on."
"The players won't talk about it and they'll be concentrating on the next game, but what is there to stop them from making it 4-0? Not a lot in my eyes, and certainly not the brittle India batting line-up they're facing," he adds.
He further states that England must take the same eleven into battle next week to secure their rightful place as the world's best Test cricket team.
Another victory of the sort inspired by Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Ian Bell and Matt Prior at Trent Bridge will do just fine and with it will come the crown that we have all been expecting for some time," Botham says.
He also does not believe that the inclusion of tested openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir will make much of a difference to India's poor form.
India's batting, he says, has looked fragile, and adds that only Rahul Dravid has shown the sort of fight and technique needed to be successful in England. (ANI)
